France Langue
École France Langue in Paris. École internationale de langue et de civilisation françaises. Daily classes in French language and civilization at all levels, with practice in speaking and writing, in small classes of students from many different countries of the world. Placement exam administered upon arrival.
Programs in Rabat, Morocco
Study Program in Rabat, Morocco
Daily intensive French language courses and interdisciplinary coursework on Moroccan civilization, with local guest speakers and field trips, administered through University of Virginia. Group excursions to museums and monuments in the capital, and field trips to Berber villages, the Atlas mountains, Marrakesh, Fez, Meknès (an imperial city and UNESCO world heritage site), the archeological site of Volubilis (Roman ruins), Casablanca (the economic capital), Tangier and Tetouan, and the Sahara.
Office of Security Cooperation Internship in Rabat, Morocco
The intern assists with administration and humanitarian assistance projects, supervised by the OSC Chief. Duties include learning, inputting and updating humanitarian assistance projects in the computer database, completing humanitarian assistance afteraction reports, updating project folders, photos, and OSC continuity database. Opportunity for travel within Morocco and use of French skills in completing project proposals or conducting a final assessment of work completed.

Study Program in Dakar, Senegal
Africa Consultants International, Centre Baobab. Intensive instruction in French and short course in Wolof. Special lectures on a variety of topics including Islam, colonialism, the slave trade, the role of women in Senegalese society, education, and AIDS in Africa. Excursions to UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Maison des esclaves on Gorée Island, Saint-Louis (the colonial capital), Dakar mosques and Koranic School, Bandia Animal Park, and the Senegalese Officer Training School in Thiès.
Office of Security Cooperation Internship in Dakar, Senegal
Intern assists OSC Chief with management of programs aimed at supporting U.S. security interests in Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, and Cape Verde. Assists with the execution of foreign military sales, foreign military financing, excess defense articles, humanitarian assistance program, African contingency operations training assistance program, theater security cooperation military-to-military engagements, end-use monitoring, international military education and training program, and the DOD HIV/AIDS prevention Program.
